Tujuan penelitian ini adalah selain untuk mengembangkan alat ukur Mathematical Mindset Scale (MMS) juga untuk membandingkan keakurasian MMS pada tipe Thurstone, Likert, dan skala 6 kategori respon. Model pengembangan alat ukur menggunakan model terintergrasi dari Borg & Gall dan Lee & Owen yang memiliki 12 tahapan. Secara singkat, ke 12 tahapan tersebut dimulai dari tahapan riset awal dan pengumpulan teori, tahap perencanaan, tahap penyusunan alat ukur MMS, tahap validasi isi pakar dan panelis, tahap revisi pertama, tahap judging group, tahap uji coba, tahap revisi setelah uji coba, dan terakhir tahap diseminasi dan implementasi hasil penelitian. MMS disusun dengan 6 aspek, yaitu keyakinan, usaha, resiliensi, belajar dari kritikan, belajar dari kesalahan, dan belajar dari orang lain. validasi oleh 3 orang pakar, 13 panelis, dan 200 judging group. Pakar terdiri atas pakar psikometri dan psikologi. Sementara panelis dan jugding group terdiri atas dosen dan guru matematika, serta beberapa mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika. Berdasarkan hasil seleksi dengan mempertimbangkan nilai median (S) dan interkuartil (Q) didapatkan 22 butir pernyataan yang kemudian dibuat dalam bentuk skala Thurstone, Likert, dan skala 6 kategori respon. Kemudian ke 22 butir MMS tersebut diujicobakan ke 222 responden. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika yang masih berstatus aktif. Berdasarkan hasil estimasi nilai reliabilitas pada ke tiga tipe skala, didapatkan hasil bahwa skala Thurstone merupakan tipe skala yang memiliki nilai reliabilitas paling rendah dibandingkan skala Likert dan skala 6 kategori respon. Pada tahap uji coba dengan ukuran sampel 222, skala Likert memiliki nilai reliabilitas paling tinggi dibandingkan skala Thursone dan skala 6 kategori respon. Namun, berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis dengan Welch’s ANOVA satu jalan dan uji “post-hoc” Games-Howell estimasi reliabilitas alpha Cronbach dengan 50 replikasi 110 data dari 222, didapatkan hasil bahwa skala Likert dan skala 6 kategori respon memliki nilai estimasi yang sama akuratnya dibandingkan skala Thurstone.

This study aimed not only to develop a Mathematical Mindset Scale (MMS) measuring instrument but also to compare the accuracy of the MMS on the Thurstone, Likert, and 6-category response Scales. The measurement instrument development model uses an integrated model from Borg & Gall and Lee & Owen with 12 stages. Briefly, the 12 stages start from the initial research and theory collection stage, the planning stage, the MMS measuring instrument preparation stage, the expert and panelist content validation stage, the first revision stage, the judging group stage, the trial stages, the revision stage after trials, and finally the dissemination and implementation stage of the research results. MMS is composed of 6 aspects, namely belief, effort, resilience, learning from criticism, learning from mistakes, and learning from others. After that, MMS was validated by three experts, 13 panelists, and 200 judging groups. The experts consist of psychometric and psychology experts. The panelists and judging groups consist of lecturers, mathematics teachers, and several Mathematics Education students. Based on the selection results by considering the median (S) and interquartile (Q) values, 22 statement items were obtained which were then made into Thurstone, Likert, and 6-category response Scales. The 22 MMS items were tested on 222 respondents in the trial stage. The respondents in this study were Mathematics Education students who were still active. In the trial stage with a sample size of 222, the Likert Scale has the highest reliability value compared to the Thursone Scale and the 6-category response scale. However, based on the hypothesis results with Welch’s ANOVA one way and “post-hoc” Games-Howell test of the Cronbach alpha reliability estimation with 50 replications of 110 data from 222, the results of the Likert and 6-category response scale are more accurate than the Thurstone scales.
